Welcome to the GCMA Wessex Website
Although one of the most diverse Regions, Wessex has arguably the closest knit group of golf club managers. The area comprises some of the world's most expensive private residences in Poole (Bournemouth) and there are parts of rural Wiltshire which command more modest prices! Wessex is particularly rich in tourism, both at the Dorset and Hampshire seaside resorts and in land locked Wiltshire, which is steeped in archaeological history including Stonehenge and Avebury, both world heritage sites. Boasting the New Forest, the Salisbury Plains and the Jurasic Coast, Wessex has many different golfing and lifestyle experiences to offer. The diversity of the area is matched by that of its golf club managers!
Our primary aim is to help golf clubs in the area flourish. This is achieved by collaboration, sharing great ideas and working positively with each other wherever we can. The Wessex mangers like to have some fun too. Our meetings are good humoured and the golf afterwards competitive. There is always plenty of banter during and after dinner - ensuring the few events we have together are always memorable.
Being a golf club manager can be a lonely job at times; the Wessex Region camaraderie helps us get through the tough times and enjoy the good ones all the more. We always welcome new managers into our fold.
